L.A. Comic Con 2025
At L.A. Comic Con, I helped introduce AI2U to an audience that arrived through comics, anime, games, and cosplay rather than a game-industry event.
My part in it
Developer, exhibitor, playtest facilitator, and on-site coordinator
What I was doing
- I helped set up the booth and keep it running across all three days.
- I introduced the game, explained the controls, and helped each new group get into a playtest.
- I answered questions as a developer and watched for the places where unfamiliar players needed help.
- I also joined the character cosplay that made the cast visible beyond the demo screens.
How the day went
The audience was broader and less industry-focused than at GDC. That gave me a useful look at how quickly the characters and premise could make sense to someone encountering AI2U for the first time.
What stayed with me
Before some visitors had even touched the game, they were already recognizing and reacting to its personalities through the cosplay around the booth.
What I took home
In a crowded convention, a clear first minute matters. Character presentation helped people become curious, but a simple playtest flow helped that curiosity survive contact with the controls.
